Delicious chilled on a hot day, or for winter, try warming this up for mulled wine with a Braeburn twist!

 

TO MAKE

3  cups sliced Braeburn apple – approx. 3-4 apples

½ c calvados (apple brandy)

5 whole cloves

2 cinnamon sticks

1 orange sliced

1 bottle of spanish red wine, Tempranillo is good

Combine these ingredients into a large jug, stir well and refrigerate for a few hours.

 

TO SERVE

Ginger beer

Thinly slice Braeburn apple

Mint leaves

Pour carefully over ice to fill 2/3 of glass, top with ginger beer, a slice of apple and a mint leaf.
