It’s been a wet few weeks down here in the Bay, with our pumps working overtime to drain the excess water from our orchards to keep our trees from drowning.
Check out these photos John took of our drainage system of underground tiles into a sump. The water is pumped out into a roadside drain that John himself put in 53 years ago! This pump will now continue to operate for the next three months to lower the water table.
These plains are prone to flooding so having an extensive drainage system is crucial for successful fruit growing in these Yummy orchards.
