The tree’s have spent the winter being well watered and summer bathing, in that very spectacular Hawkes Bay sun. This has resulted in our orchards bursting with colour, tree’s well loaded with apples and a heck of a lot of work to do.
Our teams are out there, working hard to get a big chunk of our Ambrosia harvest in. Under the hot sun, pickers are filling bins at alarming speed. Timing is super important in terms of a harvest, we look for good skin colour, and most importantly, maximum flavour and perfect crunch. It’s a fine art our Orchard Managers and the Paynter family have spent years perfecting and they have all confirmed that this year is going to be a goodie. Our Ambrosia apples are currently rolling in and they are already available in store. You have our word, this year they will be particularly Yummy and luckily, in great supply too!
