Apples are abundant right now, and Yummy apples are in all your favourite stores. ‘Tis the season for apple crumble, apple pie, and all things cosy and comforting. But on occasion (or too frequently), the kids want what they want. And that can just be a small snicky snack. The type of snack that comes in individually wrapped packets from the supermarket. Likely overpriced, filled with ingredients you may not be able to identify and just not an economical thing to nibble on.

How about you give these Yummy “lollies’ a whirl. They’re simple, they use what is already in your fridge/cupboard and they taste great!

Preheat oven to 100deg C. Slice your Yummy apples into very thin rings, and lay on a baking paper lined baking sheet, dust with a mix of caster sugar and an equal amount of cinnamon (you can forgo the sugar, but it does caramelize nicely). Bake for approx 1.5 hours, turning halfway. If they haven’t quite dried out enough, you can cook for a little longer but be careful they don’t catch as they can crisp up quite quickly at the end.

Let cool and pop in a jar for an easy to grab sweet treat. Yummy 🙂
