Hello Yellow! We brought a burst of sunshine to supermarkets across Auckland, Waikato & Tauranga with our fun focus on Lemonade apples during the month of May. Yummy grow the country’s only locally grown Lemonade apple, so we think they’re pretty awesome. Easy to spot thanks to their striking yellow skin and elongated shape they also have a uniquely refreshing, fizzy flavour with a slight tang and juicy crunch! Though they might seem impossible to miss…we think everyone should get to know them a little better.
A number of New World supermarkets allowed us to make a loud ‘Lemonade’ impact instore with oversized apple-filled cartons. We offered tasting sessions that allowed shoppers to experience the flavour for themselves, often for the first time. While in some busy hotspots around the North Island, bold billboards featuring Lemonade apples have spread the message beyond the supermarket aisle. We think Lemonade apples stand out from the crowd and the feedback has been that they’re a real crowd-pleaser too. You might find them in their bright blue punnet at your local grocer, or standing out amongst the red apples at your favourite supermarket. Either way, we think you’ll love them!
